Ryan James Waltemire arrived at 10:51 AM on Wednesday, Oct 12, 2005. He weighed 8 lb, 13 oz and was 20 3/4 inches long. He came in rather gently, Laura began pushing just before 10:00 and by 10:50 he was here. He is pretty easygoing, he has been passed around like a sack of potatoes so that everyone can take a turn holding him, but he takes it all in stride and just snuggles up, occasionally opening one eye to see who has him. He has strawberry blond hair with some platinum blond on top. He passed all his tests with flying colors and he and his mom will go home on Friday. Here are a some pictures taken shortly after he was born.

Everything went well (better than expected actually) and everyone is doing pretty good (although Laura feels a bit like a human bottle - I won't say human cow again... trust me). Ryan seems to think that daytime is nighttime and vice versa, but we'll get him straightened out or we'll just have to become nightwalkers... I'll post a full comment with pictures once I bring my CD with images on it to the office (probably tomorrow).
Laura was a lot like Mom with the picture... "I look like hell in those pictures!!" "But honey, you just had a friggin' baby, I think people will understand if you aren't wearing makeup."... I think I won that conversation by default (she fell asleep).
I sent a link to my co-workers for this site to look at the baby and I get a phone call from one of my closer friends there saying "He kinds looks like Darth Vader sans helmet." And actually after hearing that, the second picture does look like that. Later!
