Baby Ryan Update

Okay, we've finished our classes (parenting and breastfeeding) and we (especially myself) have learned a lot. According to the doctor things are still on schedule and everything looks okay. I recently spoke with Jennifer and informed her (sadly) that Samantha isn't allowed up to the room after we have the baby and therefore, won't be able to see him until we bring him home (about 2 days after the birth). Samantha is getting pretty excited about her 'baby cousin' although I don't think she quite understands that it won't be like one of her 'babies' (her dolls that she mothers). Laura has been getting more and more tired and more and more sore. She has been spending quite a bit of time in bed during the day and quite a bit of time not in bed (wandering around/bathroom/etc.) during the night. She's excited and scared, but I really think that she is ready to have this baby. A brief update, but I'm sure I'll have more news in the coming weeks... C-y'all later.

Glad that you are all checked out on parenting and breastfeeding. Remember three things about mother's milk - it is nutritious, always at the proper temperature and comes in such cute containers!

Quite true... and I'll be sure to leave that last one out when I talk with Laura.

Okay, we had an appointment this week and the doctor thinks that the baby may be too big (9 lbs.) if we wait until the 'due date' so we may be inducing as soon as next week! We have an appointment on Monday evening to determine this and I'll be sure to call ya'll when we find out... later!

Well we didn't think the baby was going to be so big either... When we spoke to the doctor 2 weeks ago he said something like 7.5 lbs, last week he said 9 lbs... We go again on Monday and I am going to ask him to explain to me why/how and whatever other questions I can come up with while we are there. Also, Laura has only gained 16 lbs through the whole pregnancy... 9 lb baby + placenta + misc. fluids should = more than 16lbs, but that's just me...

Also, as of last night the baby 'dropped' a bit and is finally not hanging on Laura's rib cage anymore...

P.S. No baby bouncing shall be occurring so ya'll can rest easy... Later!
