Tony Hospitalized

Diana called me on Tuesday afternoon (I was on the golf course) to tell me that Tony was in the hospital. Seems that he had a build-up of fluid around his heart and that concerned his doctor enough to put him in the hospital. (Tony, not the doctor.) I talked with Tony Wednesday morning and he said the doctors decided that they would cut a hole in his chest, insert a probe and punch a hole in the sac around his heart to drain the fluid, which they did on Wednesday. Diana called me on Wednesday afternoon (I was cruising the canal in my boat) to let me know that everything had gone well and Tony was in recovery. She called again on Thursday morning (I was at home this time) to say that Tony is doing fine and really looks good. He is being moved from intensive care and she expects that he will go home no later than Sunday, perhaps Saturday if all goes well. She thinks that he will only have to stay home for a week or so and then will be able to return to light duty at work. I really think that he should have a couple of weeks of golf therapy before he has to go back to work. (I could go down to Orlando and help with the therapy.)

Well I hope that Tony is feeling better. I don't have my cell phone right now (I lost it and won't have a replacement for at least a week), so please have Diana/Tony call me on Laura's cell phone to update me. I spoke with Mom and she explained a bit to me about it. Tony, Diana, if you guys read this get better soon and I do think that a little bit of golf therapy and lots and lots of sleep sounds like a great idea. Don't push yourself too much.

I'm gonna be the stupid one here... What exactly is a PET scan and what does it look for? I'm sure everything will be okay, but I'll cross my fingers for ya anyway...
