Moving Day

Sunday was moving day for Glen and Laura. I drove (and packed) the rental truck (U-Haul) while Glen, John and Bob (one of Glen's co-workers) carried stuff down from their second floor apartment. We got started around 11:00 A.M. and finished around 8:00 P.M. (Two trips.) The temperature was in the high 90s and was about 120 in the truck. The house they moved into is only a few minutes away from the apartment, nice but it is a split level with lots of stairs. Jennifer and Laura spent the day cleaning the apartment as we emptied it. We all took a pizza break around 5:30 at the apartment where we sat on the floor (no furniture) and ate. Laura's dad brought a couch for the new house and it took four of us to move it (heavy!). Some of Laura's family were working at the new house, cleaning, painting and laying tile during the moving operations which made for some interesting situations but we got 'er done. We only used about two gallons of diesel fuel in the truck and most of that was traveling to and from the rental site.

I babysat for Samantha on Monday and we went to the park (as usual) to play on the equipment, lunch at MacDonald's (more play) and then home for bubble blowing until Jennifer came to pick her up. I took a few pictures (of course) and this story wouldn't be complete without a couple of pictures, now would it?

Yes it was quite hot we went through almost 5 gallons of water that day and a few boxes of soda... Remind me to never, never move in August again. Thanks again John and Grandpa.
